Hello. My name is Robert Barnes and I am an amateur photographer. I have been interested in photography since Jr. Highschool. I started back in the mid 1960's carring an old German made folding camera that used 620 film. Well that caught a few peoples attention and opened a door to the highschool yearbook position as assistant photographer! So the old folding friend had to go. Along came the Yashics D, a loaner from the yearbook department. Well it was not long and I had to have my own camera so the parents sprang for a New Yashica 12 wow was that great!

Well after highschool reallity caught up with me and it was off to work and marriage, kids you know how it goes. Photography was on the back burner and the burner was turned off. So some 23 years later at my oldest sons wedding , the photography bug bit me again. I don't have the Yashica 12 anymore but I have collected a few 35mm cameras that do the job.

Currently I am enrolled in theNew York Institute of Photography course and find it to be excellent. It has explained many things to me that I had some knowledge of but thought I really did not need to know that type of stuff. The audio tapes and video tapes are really excellent along with the printed study materials. The sections on studio lighting and portraiture were so well done that I really understood for the first time how to get the desired results.

Another great sight is The Robert Farber Interactive Photographic Workshopone can learn from many of the Best Photographers in the World through audio interviews and slide shows of their work. Also you can post your photographs to the Workshop pages and be seen by millons of people surfing the sight. Also If you want there are forums that are avaliable to you to put your work up for critique by fellow members of the workshop. You really need to see this sight.
